Black Girls Cook (BGC) is a
non-profit organization that teaches inner-city adolescent girls of color the true meaning of farm-to-table by operating hands on cooking classes and growing edible gardens.
BGC CALL OF ACTION
A famous African proverb says "It takes a village to raise a child". We are always seeking volunteers to help achieve our projected goals.
Modeled after the hit Food Network Show "Chopped", this interactive cooking competition will pair 4 BGC girls with 4 local celebrities to prepare dishes based on items inside of their mystery baskets. After each course, teams will present their dishes to a panel of professional chefs. After each course, a team is eliminated and one team will be crowned the "BGC Perfect Pair".
BGC Edible Garden Program
Locally and nationally, Black Girls Cook is a vocal advocate for teaching and inspiring adolescent girls of color to mature into young responsible women through the art of cooking and urban gardening.
BGC Culinary Program
We need your help to sponsor 15 teen girls in Baltimore City. Funds are needed to purchase groceries, cooking supplies, uniforms and other necessities. Please make your contribution TODAY!
THE BGC MISSION
TEACH. INSPIRE. LOVE.
